Three ways to see Kauai's Napali Coast

Seeing the Napali Coast should be on everyone's bucket list.  No matter what kind of traveler you are, there is a way for you to see this amazing natural wonder.

The Kalalau Trail along the coast is 11 miles one way, and it's an out-and-back hike.  This hike is known to be one of the most difficult in the U.S., so make sure you are ready for it.  You also need to have a permit (more info here).  However, you don't have to hike the full length.  It's very popular to just hike the first 2 miles to Hanakapi’ai Beach.  But be warned, it's still a very strenuous and muddy hike!

You can see the Napali Coast by sea by taking a catamaran or Zodiak trip, or if you're in excellent shape, you can kayak the full length.  Any way you go, you will get wet, so be prepared!

Kauai in general is best see by air since 80 percent of the island is inaccessible to cars, so not only will you get to see the Napali Coast, but you'll see the rest of the island as well.  Helicopters are very popular for this trip, but small planes are also available.

No matter how you choose to see the Napali Coast, it is sure to be an amazing trip!
